Set in the wonderful vineyard landscape of the Langhe, and close to the important wine-producing town of Santo Stefan Belbo, this very exclusive estate occupies a tranquil hillside location with access from a little-used country lane. The historic house looks south and enjoys a beautiful panoramic view over the rolling Langhe hills.
There are many excellent restaurants as well as large and small wine producers close to the property; both Santo Stefano Belbo and the UNESCO wine town of Canelli offer very good shopping facilities.
The major towns of Asti, Alba and Acqui Terme are around 20 km away, while the nearest motorway / autostrada connection is about 10 km away. The international airports of Milan, Turin and Genoa can be reached in 60 to 90 minutes; the beaches of the Riviera in about an hour.
Originally a typical wine farmhouse of solid stone construction, the house was built over 200 years ago. The building was completely renovated in the 1990s, generously extended and transformed into an elegant country residence.
The original stone walls have been exposed, and together with beamed and vaulted ceilings they give the house a uniquely charming rustic character. The house now meets modern technical standards: it is well-insulated and equipped with underfloor heating.
Glass doors lead from the garden on the south side of the house into a spacious living room with an open fireplace and an open-plan modern kitchen with steel appliances, granite worktops and a kitchen island. Next to the kitchen is the cosy dining room with an open fireplace. Glass doors lead from the dining room on to the terrace in front of the house and to a covered outdoor dining area with a pizza oven.
Also on the ground floor, and accessible from the living-room, there is a very spacious and stunning covered outdoor sitting area / portico which features a substantial bread / pizza oven.
On the ground floor, with access from the covered portico, there is also a small guest apartment with a bathroom, bedroom, and kitchenette. This unit has its own exit to the garden. In addition, the ground floor houses a large walk-in larder, accessible from the kitchen; a laundry room, a guest WC and the heating room.
Stairs lead from the living room on the ground floor to the large, impressive second living area on the first floor: this room features an open fireplace, and exposed roof trusses give the room a very spacious atmosphere.

Garden & Grounds

Vineyard & Winery
Included in the grounds is a well-tended vineyard of ca. 3000 m² planted with Dolcetto, Pinot Gris and Merlot vines. The vineyard is looked after by a local wine-farmer, and the grapes are processed in the estate´s own small winery which is situated in a separate outbuilding. The winery is perfectly equipped, and the annual production is about 3000 bottles of quality wines, which are stored in the underground historic wine cellar of the house.
At the back of the winery is a large storage room / workshop.
The main entrance into the property is from the side via a paved parking area with a carport for 2 cars.
